Jakarta, VIVA – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named five people as suspects in an alleged corruption case related to the use of ready-to-use funds (Dana Siap Pakai, DSP) within the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB).

The KPK also seized evidence worth a total of around Rp5.47 billion in a series of sting operations.

Acting KPK Director of Investigations Achmad Taufik Husein said the suspects were named after investigators found sufficient evidence.

“After an alleged criminal act of corruption was identified, the case was advanced to the investigation stage following a case review by the leadership. Once sufficient evidence had been found during the investigation, the KPK named five people as suspects,” Taufik said at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Friday (16 October 2026).

The five suspects are Bima Setiawan (BMS), an expert adviser to the BNPB chief and younger brother of former BNPB chief Richard Erlangga; Richard Erlangga (RIC), who was an expert adviser to the BNPB chief at the time; and Gabriel Purwaka Sigit (GPS), head and commitment-making official (PPK) of the BNPB Subdirectorate for Emergency Assistance and Fund Management.

“The two suspects from the private sector are Syifa Nrika Ghifarin (SNG) and Gery Prasetiawan (GER),” he said.

In this case, the KPK has charged Bima Setiawan under Article 12(i) of the Anti-Corruption Law.

Richard Erlangga is suspected of violating Article 12(a) or 12(b), as well as Article 12(i) of the same law.

Gabriel Purwaka Sigit, who is alleged to have received payments, is suspected of violating Article 12(a) or 12(b), and Article 12B of the Anti-Corruption Law.

Syifa Nrika Ghifarin and Gery Prasetiawan, who are alleged to have given payments, are suspected of violating Article 605(1)(a) or (b), or Article 606(1) of the Criminal Code.

“The KPK has detained all five suspects for an initial 20-day period, from 14 October to 2 November 2026,” he said.

“They are being held at the detention facility at the KPK’s Red and White Building,” he added.
