BNPB Begins Construction of Independent Permanent Housing in Salareh Aia, Agam
Lubuk Basung (ANTARA) - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has begun constructing independent permanent housing (huntap) in Nagari Salareh Aia, Palembayan Subdistrict, Agam Regency, West Sumatra, for residents affected by disasters in the area, on Thursday.
“The construction of this independent permanent housing uses Semen Padang interlock bricks or sepablock. This construction is the initial stage and serves as a pilot,” said BNPB’s Main Secretary Rustian after laying the first stone for the independent permanent housing construction on Thursday.
He stated that the use of sepablock technology is considered effective and efficient in building permanent housing, and it has good resilience against environmental conditions in the area.
“The activity is the initial step in building housing for disaster-affected communities, as part of efforts to accelerate rehabilitation and reconstruction in Agam Regency,” said Rustian.
Agam Deputy Regent Muhammad Iqbal appreciated BNPB’s support and attention to the people of Agam, particularly in providing permanent housing for disaster victims.
According to him, the construction of independent permanent housing with sepablock is expected to provide decent, safe housing that is resistant to potential future disasters.
He hopes that the huntap construction will proceed smoothly and can soon be utilised by the communities in need.
The permanent housing construction was accompanied by BNPB’s Daily Chairman of the Guiding Elements Ari Laksmana Wijaya, Agam Deputy Regent Muhammad Iqbal, elements of the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda), Agam Regional Secretary Muhammad Lutfi, and several heads of Regional Device Organisations (OPD) within the Agam Regency Government (Pemkab).
