Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) states that 12 residents’ houses suffered damage due to strong winds that struck the West Lombok Regency area in West Nusa Tenggara. The Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Centre, Abdul Muhari, in his statement in Jakarta on Tuesday evening, said that the damage occurred in Kakeri Village, Gunung Sari Subdistrict, West Lombok Regency, shortly after extreme weather in the form of heavy rain accompanied by strong winds hit the area. “The incident took place on Monday (20/4) around 15:15 WITA when heavy rain accompanied by strong winds struck the area,” he said. The incident also resulted in one family having to evacuate to a relative’s house deemed safer. At present, he said, personnel from the West Lombok Regency Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) along with local village officials are still carrying out emergency handling at the affected location. “Up to now, personnel in West Lombok are still continuing to carry out emergency handling,” he said.
