BNPB: 1,954 tonnes of aid distributed to NTT earthquake victims

The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has reported that 1,954 tonnes of aid have been distributed to the victims of the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

“Almost all incoming aid has been distributed. The total aid received from 15 to 30 August 2026 reached 1,953,849 kilograms, or approximately 1,954 tonnes,” said the Acting Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Centre, Berton SP Panjaitan, during a press conference in Jakarta on Sunday.

Berton added that the distribution percentage of logistical aid has reached 98.39 per cent, channelled through the central distribution posts for the NTT earthquake in Maumere and Labuan Bajo.

“More than 1,900 tonnes of logistics were sent through various routes. Aid distribution was carried out via Indonesian Air Force air routes (565 tonnes), from the Ready-to-Use Fund (DSP) (1,065 tonnes), via sea routes (1t79 tonnes), and via land or truck routes (145 tonnes),” Berton stated.

“The aid was destined for Labuan Bajo and was reported to have arrived at 08:57 WIB, comprising essential food packages, medicines, instant noodles, mineral water, rice, toiletries, baby kits, clothing for children and adults, as well as stationery,” he added.

BNPB also noted that the number of earthquake evacuees in NTT decreased by 4,142 people from the previous day. As of 30 August 2026, at 07:00 WIB, the number of earthquake evacuees in NTT stood at 188,161 people.

“The largest concentration of evacuees is in Manggarai Regency with 50,556 people and Nagekeo Regency with 50,574 people,” he said.

Berton added that other regencies still maintaining high numbers of evacuees include East Manggarai, West Manggarai, Ngada, Sikka, and Ende.
