The Bali Provincial Narcotics Agency (BNNP) has uncovered a cannabis trafficking syndicate operating between Aceh and Bali. Two suspects were arrested in separate locations.

“The eradication division of BNNP Bali successfully uncovered an Aceh-Bali cannabis network operating in the Denpasar area,” said BNNP Bali Chief, Brigadier General Putu Putera Sadana, in a statement on Thursday (9/7/2026).

Putera explained that the operation was conducted after coordination with several parties, including Customs and Excise. It began with a suspicious package sent from Aceh to Denpasar.

BNNP Bali then monitored the package’s journey until it was received by a man with the initials RA on Wednesday (8/7/2026) at his residence on Jalan Gunung Soputan, Denpasar.

There, officers opened the package in the presence of witnesses. Upon inspection, they discovered 15 packages of cannabis wrapped in coffee bean packaging. The total net weight of the cannabis evidence was 1,471.46 grams, or more than 1.4 kilograms.

According to RA’s confession, he was controlled by a man with the initials FY, also known as Giok (49), who reportedly lived in the Tibubeneng area, North Kuta.

“Based on the suspect RA’s confession, it was revealed that the perpetrator was controlled by a man with the initials FY alias Giok,” Putera added.

Officers immediately moved to pursue FY and successfully apprehended him at his residence. Upon examination, FY admitted to purchasing the cannabis package from an individual referred to as Pak Cik from Aceh.

“Currently, the perpetrators along with the evidence have been taken to the Bali Provincial BNN Office for further investigation,” he added.

For their actions, the perpetrators will be charged under Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. They face a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
