BNNP Bali Dismantles Aceh-Bali Cannabis Syndicate
The Bali Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) dismantled an Aceh-Bali cannabis distribution network on Wednesday (8/7/2026) in the Gunung Soputan Street area of Denpasar. The operation was led by the Head of BNNP Bali, Brigadier General Pol. Putu Putera Sadana, alongside the eradication division and his team.
Brigadier General Putu Putera Sedana stated that the case originated from coordination with the Directorate of Interdiction, Deputy for Eradication of BNN RI, and the Customs and Excise Office for Bali, NTB, and NTT regarding information about a package suspected to contain cannabis sent from Aceh to Denpasar.
‘Based on this information, the joint team carried out a controlled delivery of the package and successfully secured a man with the initials RA (48) shortly after he received the package at his residence on Jl. Gunung Soputan, Denpasar,’ he said.
During the inspection, officers discovered evidence suspected to be cannabis disguised in coffee bean packaging, totalling 15 packages with a net weight of 1,471.46 grams. According to the suspect RA’s confession, he was controlled by a man with the initials FY, also known as Giok (49), who lived in the Tibubeneng area of North Kuta.
Following this information, the team immediately moved to develop the case and successfully secured Giok at his home. The suspect admitted to purchasing the narcotics package from a friend he called ‘Pak Cik’ in Aceh.
‘The suspects and the evidence have been taken to the BNNP Bali Office for further investigation. For their actions, the suspects face a maximum penalty of death, life imprisonment, or a maximum of 20 years in prison in accordance with Law Number 35 of 2009,’ stated the Head of BNNP Bali.
