BNN Uncovers Several Cases in Saber Bersinar Operation, April–May 2026
Jakarta – The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of the Republic of Indonesia has busted a number of cases of alleged narcotics trafficking in Saber Bersinar Operation for April–May 2026.
‘From all operations conducted to date, we have seized a total of 136.5 kilograms of shabu (methamphetamine), 147 kilograms of cannabis, and 1,200 millilitres of etomidate,’ said Acting Deputy for Eradication Roy Hardi Siahaan, Brigadier General of Police, at a press conference at the BNN RI Building, Jakarta, on Tuesday.
In addition, BNN also seized 1,029 grams of ketamine and 6,681 Ecstasy tablets.
He said through these disclosures, the total number of people potentially saved is around 353,312, with an estimated economic value of the seized evidence at Rp211.4 billion.
Some cases disclosed include the dismantling of the Fathurrahman network, which was on BNN RI’s wanted list (DPO).
He explained that the operation arrests began in April 2026. On 7 May 2026, the DPO network was nabbed on Jalan Lintas Poros Samarinda–Berau, in Kutai Timur Regency, East Kalimantan.
A total of four suspects were secured, initials IP, RA, RM, and MA.
‘The results of the investigation and tracing of the 92 kilograms of evidence indicate that they originated from F or Fathurrahman, a fugitive we have been seeking in a money-laundering case,’ he said.
Another case involved the trafficking of drugs via a transnational network through express courier services and air couriers to import and distribute shabu to various regions of Indonesia.
Roy said that on 28 April 2026, joint BNN and Customs officers uncovered a narcotics shipment from Golden Triangle via express delivery service.
‘The package was sent to the Indonesia Post Office in Jakarta. Subsequently, checks by Customs colleagues together with our officers found and seized 10 packages of shabu weighing 1,875 grams,’ he said.
He said the origin of the illicit shipment was Laos and the destination was Kampung Ambon in the Cengkareng area, West Jakarta.
‘When we carried out a controlled delivery for the name and address in Kampung Ambon, we could not locate the perpetrators because the name was fictitious, so we kept the evidence here,’ he said.
He added that the two suspects carried shabu weighing 3,986 grams that were to be distributed in Lombok and nearby tourist areas.
The next breakthrough occurred on 2 May 2026 against three couriers initials MF, AH, and AM in Central Jakarta.
From the search results, officers seized 7,159 grams of shabu that were being broken down and repackaged in a hotel room for distribution in the Jabodetabek area.
The network was controlled by a fugitive initials KB. The goods were to be brought and distributed in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra).
From all these transnational network disclosures, officers seized a total of 13,020 grams or about 13 kilograms of shabu.
Roy said that the BNN Provincial (BNNP) was also able to uncover drug cases in various parts of Indonesia, including East Java.
East Java BNNP along with BNNK (Regency/City BNN) secured 15 people consisting of users and drug traffickers in several areas with shabu evidence weighing 34.86 grams.
For their actions, the suspects were charged under Act No. 35 of 2009 on Narcotics and other criminal provisions, with maximum penalties of the death sentence or life imprisonment.
