BNN Uncovers 29-Kilogram Sabu Network Between Aceh and Bogor Involving a TNI Serviceman

Acting Deputy for Eradication of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) Brigadier General Roy Hardi Siahaan said the case was uncovered as his agency monitored the suspects’ movements on Tuesday, 19 May 206 at 04:30 WIB. The suspects were tailed in the parking lot of a minimarket in Parung Panjang, Bogor. ‘There are three suspects, consisting of two civilians and one serving member of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI),’ he said at a press conference at the BNN office in Cawang, East Jakarta, on Tuesday, 19 May 206. Next, as the suspects were unloading the goods, officers carried out a raid, planning, execution (RPE) or on-site crackdown. It was confirmed that the evidence sabu was being carried in a Pajero. ‘And today we will coordinate with BPOM regarding the chronology of the case; we managed to surveil one vehicle followed by several people including a member of TNI or ex-TNI officials,’ he said. In the operation, officers detained three suspects: TA, Y, and I, and seized 29 green Chinese tea-packaged sachets containing sabu. The total weight was around 29 kilograms, hidden inside the vehicle used by the perpetrators. ‘Finally, we questioned the suspect. The person is indeed a TNI member. His involvement is that he was inside the Pajero. Thus we conclude that he is a drug dealer. In other words, he carried the goods from Langsa to Bogor, stored in the rear compartment of the Pajero,’ he added. Roy explained that the sabu originated from Langsa, Aceh, bound for Jabodetabek. The sabu was transported by land and the Bakauheni-Merak crossing. Next, a joint team continued surveillance to Bogor. There, the target vehicle was abandoned in Parung Panjang and the suspects moved towards Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. ‘Officers managed to secure all suspects and transport them along with the evidence to the BNN Office for further examination and development,’ he said.
