BNN Seizes Rp165 Billion in Assets from Drug Money Laundering

The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) has seized assets resulting from money laundering connected to narcotics transactions, valued at more than Rp165 billion, during the period from October 2024 to July 2026. BNN Chief Commissioner General Suyudi Ario Seto stated that the asset seizures originated from case disclosures involving the confiscation of 12.3 tonnes of drug evidence. “We are not satisfied with just making arrests; we also have the spirit to impoverish the dealers,” Suyudi said during the commemoration of International Anti-Narcotics Day in Bogor Regency, West Java, on Thursday. Therefore, BNN continues to strengthen its intelligence approach through inter-agency cooperation, joint operations, supply chain disruption, pursuit of transnational networks, and a ‘follow the money’ strategy to cripple the financial power of syndicates. Suyudi emphasised that BNN is continuously refining its Prevention and Eradication of Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (P4GN) strategy through an increasingly comprehensive, balanced, and uncompromising approach towards drug dealers and networks. Nevertheless, BNN remains humane in rehabilitating abusers and victims to build community resilience and is more preventive in protecting Indonesian children from an early age. “This is the spirit we embody in the War on Drugs for Humanity, which is a war against drug crimes while upholding human rights and being humane towards victims of abuse in order to save lives,” he said. He noted that the Indonesian nation is in a decisive phase, preparing a generation that will capitalise on the peak demographic bonus and lead Indonesia towards the grand vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045. To achieve this, he said, Indonesia requires human resources that are healthy, intelligent, superior, productive, with strong character and high competitiveness. “The government has built various important foundations to realise and improve the quality of Indonesian people, and narcotics remain one of the serious threats,” Suyudi stated.
