BNN Seizes Billions in Cash and Assets Worth Rp 39 Billion from Kampung Bahari Drug Lord
The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) has seized billions of rupiah in cash from a drug lord with the initials MR, who was raided in Kampung Bahari, North Jakarta. The money is part of the development of a money laundering (TPPU) investigation related to the case.
“From the development of the person concerned, Bos Gendut or MR, we have developed the TPPU and successfully seized cash amounting to Rp 1.277 billion,” said BNN Director of Enforcement and Pursuit Brigadier General Roy Hardy Siahaan during a press conference at the North Jakarta BNN Office on Thursday (13/8/2026).
In addition to the cash, several assets were also confiscated. The value of the seized assets is estimated at Rp 39.950 billion. “Then developed into several assets which we have calculated to be approximately Rp 39.950 billion,” he said.
MR is one of the fugitive drug kingpins linked to the possession of 92 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine. The BNN has been hunting MR since 7 November 2025. “This means that we are not only processing the main case of 92 kilograms, but we have also successfully processed the money laundering crime,” he stated.
MR was raided this morning. The raid was conducted by the BNN together with the police, who searched the Bos Gendut’s house in Kampung Bahari. “From the results of the interrogation development, the person concerned stated that there was a circle of several people, then showed evidence at his house. Therefore, together with the Polda Metro Jaya, in this case Brimob, we jointly carried out the operation this morning at around 6 a.m.,” he explained.
The BNN’s raid on the drug boss in Kampung Bahari, North Jakarta, met with resistance from the drug network. Officers were pelted with firecrackers, and the officers responded with tear gas. In video footage obtained by detikcom, BNN and Brimob personnel were seen on guard. They were in full uniform with bulletproof vests and helmets. The drug network fought back by shooting firecrackers and firecrackers at the officers. The officers responded by firing tear gas.
