BNN RI reveals seizure of 2.6 tonnes of liquid methamphetamine in Karimun waters

The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of the Republic of Indonesia has revealed the arrest of a Tanzanian-flagged vessel that was detected changing its name four times and showing erratic movements from Taiwan, Sarawak, the South China Sea, Thai waters, and into the Malacca Strait. Head of BNN RI, Police Commissioner General Suyudi Ario Seto, explained in Batam on Friday (21/8) that on Monday (17/8), a joint team from BNN RI together with BNN Kepri Province, Customs and Excise, and the Kepri Regional Police deployed three maritime fleets to apprehend the MV Ocean Water in Karimun waters, which was carrying 2.6 tonnes of liquid methamphetamine.
