BNN Integrates IKAN Programme into Five School Subjects in Babel
Pangkalpinang (ANTARA) - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of Indonesia has integrated the Anti-Drug Curriculum Integration Programme (IKAN) into five school subjects in schools in Bangka Belitung Province, to strengthen drug prevention efforts among students in the area. “This can open eyes and provide strong education, so that students have the self-resilience to boldly say no to drugs,” said BNN Chief Komjen Pol Suyudi Ario Seto in Pangkalpinang on Thursday. He stated that the IKAN Programme is the latest initiative from the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) in collaboration with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) to bolster drug prevention in the environment of Junior High Schools (SMP), Senior High Schools (SMA), and equivalent institutions in the Bangka Belitung Islands. He appreciated the initiative of the Bangka Belitung Provincial BNN, which is fully supported by Bangka Belitung Governor Hidayat Arsani in launching the IKAN Programme, as it aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s programme to create a healthier, smarter, stronger, and drug-free younger generation for the nation. “Drug prevention and eradication is very important to support the president’s programmes that are very beneficial to society, such as Free Nutritious Meals, People’s Schools, Garuda Schools, and others, to create children of the nation who live healthier, smarter, and drug-free lives,” he said. “Drugs are the enemy of the nation that must be eradicated together, so that our children are free from the impact of this illicit substance,” he added. He called on all elements of society to jointly combat drug circulation so that Bangka Belitung is clean from drugs. “I invite community leaders and religious figures to always educate the public about the dangers of drugs,” he said.
