BNN facilitates pilot People's School as a form of collaboration
The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of the Republic of Indonesia is facilitating a pilot People’s School at the BNN K9 Detection Unit in Lido, West Java, as a concrete manifestation of cross-ministerial and institutional collaboration.
Head of BNN RI, Police Commissioner General Suyudi Ario Seto, said that the use of BNN facilities as a pilot People’s School is one form of BNN’s support for the Ministry of Social Affairs’ programme to expand access to education for children from underprivileged families.
“This collaboration also demonstrates that cross-ministerial support can be realised concretely through the utilisation of resources owned by each institution for the benefit of the public,” said Commissioner General Suyudi in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Monday.
He said that the spirit of cross-ministerial and institutional collaboration is not only contained in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), such as the one signed by the Head of BNN RI, the Minister of Social Affairs, the Minister of Health, and the Minister of Manpower on the Synergy for the Implementation of Rehabilitation and Post-Rehabilitation on Tuesday (11/8).
That spirit is also being realised through tangible support on the ground, one of which is the use of BNN facilities as a pilot People’s School.
Following the signing of the MoU at the BNN Human Resources Development Centre (PPSDM) in Lido, the Head of BNN RI, together with Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf and Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, inspected the pilot People’s School occupying the BNN facility.
On that occasion, the three officials saw first-hand the readiness of the classrooms, supporting facilities, and various needs that had been prepared to support teaching and learning activities, while also interacting with the students who will take part in the pilot People’s School programme.
The Minister of Social Affairs expressed his appreciation for BNN’s support in organising the pilot People’s School.
He assessed that the support is a concrete manifestation of inter-agency collaboration in following up on President Prabowo’s directive to expand access to education and improve the intellectual life of the nation.
The pilot People’s School at the BNN K9 Detection Unit in Lido, Bogor, West Java, is attended by 50 students from decile 1 and 2 families in Bogor Regency.
They consist of 25 lower secondary school (SMP) students and 25 upper secondary school (SMA) students, with a composition of 26 male students and 24 female students. The students have been designated as People’s School participants through a Decree of the Regent of Bogor.
To support the educational process, the pilot People’s School is supported by 18 guest teachers as teaching staff. In addition, there are 15 education personnel consisting of 10 foster guardians and 5 dormitory guardians to accompany the students during the programme.
The students have undergone the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) starting 15 August 2026 for 5 days. After that, students will take part in a matriculation programme for 14 days, or two weeks, before entering full learning activities.
The collaboration between BNN and the Ministry of Social Affairs in organising the pilot People’s School at the BNN K9 Detection Unit is a form of joint support in providing access to education for communities in need.
Cross-ministerial and institutional synergy is expected to continue to be strengthened so that this programme can provide optimal benefits for students while supporting the formation of an intelligent and dignified generation for Golden Indonesia 2045.
