The National Narcotics Board (BNN) has destroyed 34,211.96 grams or 34.2 kilograms of narcotics including methamphetamine, ecstasy, and mephedrone (party drug) seized during the February-March 2026 period. BNN prevented potential abuse among 147,340 people.

“From the various narcotics including methamphetamine, ecstasy, and mephedrone that we have seized and destroyed, BNN has successfully prevented potential abuse among 147,340 people,” said Acting Deputy for Drug Enforcement at BNN Brigadier General Roy Hardi Siahaan at BNN headquarters in East Jakarta on Tuesday (17 March 2026).

Of the 34.2 kilograms of evidence destroyed, 27.7 kilograms consisted of methamphetamine. The methamphetamine was seized from seven drug discovery cases across Indonesia.

“From these seven cases, the total methamphetamine evidence seized was 27,921.86 grams or 27.9 kilograms. We then set aside 192 grams for laboratory testing, leaving 27,729.86 grams for destruction,” Roy said.

BNN also destroyed 1,829 grams containing 3,196 ecstasy pills. The drugs were seized during the arrest of a man with initials AZ in Bekasi, West Java.

“On 9 February 2026, the BNN team successfully apprehended a man with initials AZ, whom we detained at his rented residence in Cibatu Village, Bekasi Regency, West Java,” Roy said.

BNN also seized mephedrone or party drug production from a Russian syndicate in Bali. A total of 7,247 millilitres was destroyed today.

“From a search at a production facility in Gianyar Regency, officers seized evidence of mephedrone narcotics production in liquid form totalling 7,250 millilitres. Officers then set aside 3 millilitres for laboratory testing and destroyed the remaining 7,247 millilitres,” he said.

In addition to mephedrone, BNN also destroyed chemical production materials in liquid form totalling 198,129 millilitres from the case. BNN also destroyed 4,099.5 grams of chemical production materials in solid form.

“Additionally, there were chemical materials in liquid form totalling 198,657 millilitres, with 528 millilitres set aside for laboratory testing, so 198,129 millilitres were destroyed,” Roy said.

“The chemical materials in solid form, as visible before the media colleagues, totalled 4,100 grams, with 0.5 grams set aside for laboratory testing and 4,099.5 grams to be destroyed,” he added.

Roy appealed to the public to actively participate in combating drug abuse. He also urged residents to contact the call centre 184 when there are indications of drug abuse and trafficking in the vicinity.

“BNN appeals to all segments of society to actively participate in efforts to combat narcotics, starting from protecting family and community environments, supporting anti-narcotics education programmes, to reporting any indications of drug abuse and illegal trafficking through official channels, such as contacting call centre 184,” he said.
