Indonesia’s National Narcotics Agency (BNN) destroyed evidence from narcotics offences during the February-March 2026 period. The BNN destroyed a total of 34,211.96 grams, or 34.2 kilograms, of narcotics comprising methamphetamine, ecstasy, and mephedrone, or party drug.

The drug destruction took place at the BNN complex in East Jakarta on Tuesday, 17 March 2026. Of the 34.2 kg of evidence destroyed, 27.7 kg consisted of methamphetamine seized in seven separate cases.

“From these seven cases, the total seized narcotics evidence of methamphetamine weighed 27,921.86 grams, or 27.9 kilograms. We then set aside 192 grams for laboratory testing, leaving 27,729.86 grams for destruction,” said Acting Deputy for Drug Enforcement at BNN Brigadier General Roy Hardi Siahaan.

The BNN also destroyed 1,829 grams, or 3,196 ecstasy tablets. This material was seized following the arrest of a man with initials AZ in Bekasi, West Java.

“On 9 February 2026, a BNN team successfully apprehended a man with initials AZ, whom we detained at his rented residence in Kampung Cibatu, Bekasi District, West Java,” Roy stated.

Roy noted that a total of 4,080 ecstasy tablets were seized by the BNN from this case. The ecstasy had been sent from Luxembourg, Western Europe.

“The perpetrator was a recipient of a postal package containing approximately 4,080 ecstasy tablets shipped from Luxembourg,” he said.

The BNN also seized mephedrone, or party drug, produced by a Russian syndicate in Bali. A total of 7,247 millilitres were destroyed on this day.

“From a search at the production facility in Gianyar District, officers seized evidence of mephedrone narcotics production in liquid form totalling 7,250 millilitres. Officers then set aside 3 millilitres for laboratory testing, with the remaining 7,247 millilitres destroyed,” he stated.

In addition to mephedrone, the BNN destroyed 198,129 millilitres of liquid-form chemical production materials from the case. The BNN also destroyed 4,099.5 grams of solid-form chemical production materials.

“Additionally, there were chemical substances in liquid form totalling 198,657 millilitres, with 528 millilitres set aside for laboratory testing, leaving 198,129 millilitres destroyed,” Roy said.

“The chemical substances in solid form, as you can see before you, totalled 4,100 grams, with 0.5 grams set aside for laboratory testing, and 4,099.5 grams will subsequently be destroyed,” he added.
