The Head of the National Narcotics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BNN RI), Commissioner General Suyudi Ario Seto, has stated that the BNN is ready to safeguard President Prabowo Subianto’s policies in eradicating drugs. Suyudi stressed that the BNN is prepared to be on the front line and ready to collaborate with various institutions to combat narcotics. “BNN RI is ready to be on the front line safeguarding the President’s policies, strengthening national and international collaboration, and continuing to transform into an institution that is increasingly professional, modern, adaptive, humane, and trustworthy,” Suyudi said at the 2026 International Anti-Drug Day (HANI) commemoration in Lido, Bogor, on Thursday (23/7).

Suyudi revealed the BNN’s commitment to intensifying drug eradication efforts. He stated that the BNN carries out drug eradication professionally and sustainably. “We reaffirm BNN RI’s commitment to continuously enhance all efforts in the prevention and eradication of narcotics abuse and illicit trafficking in a firm, professional, measured, and sustainable manner,” he said. Furthermore, Suyudi stated that drug eradication is crucial for building a healthy, intelligent, and strong generation. He emphasised that this is one of the efforts to realise the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision. “With the support and synergy of all components of the nation, we believe Indonesia is capable of building a generation that is healthier, smarter, stronger, and highly competitive as the foundation towards Golden Indonesia 2045,” he said.

The 2026 International Anti-Drug Day commemoration served as a momentum for the BNN to strengthen its approach in handling drug issues, from prevention and eradication to rehabilitation and recovery from narcotics abuse in Indonesia. HANI 2026 carried the theme “Building a Healthy, Intelligent, and Strong Generation Through the Ananda Bersinar Movement Towards Golden Indonesia 2045”. The event was attended by a number of government officials, stakeholders, and various elements of society. Suyudi said that Indonesia is in a crucial phase of preparing the generation that will lead the nation towards Golden Indonesia 2045. According to him, human resource development is one of the keys to facing the demographic bonus. “Ladies and gentlemen, distinguished guests, the Indonesian nation is in a very decisive phase. We are preparing the generation that will fill the peak of the demographic bonus and lead Indonesia towards the great story of Golden Indonesia 2045,” Suyudi said. “To realise this, we need human resources that are healthy, intelligent, excellent, productive, of good character, and highly competitive,” he added.

Furthermore, Suyudi said the government has built various programmes to improve the quality of Indonesia’s human resources. These efforts are realised through a number of programmes such as Free Nutritious Meals (MBG), Sekolah Rakyat, Sekolah Garuda, strengthening national food security, and vocational training. According to him, human resource development must also be accompanied by protecting the younger generation from various threats, including narcotics abuse and illicit trafficking. “However, amidst this great endeavour, narcotics remain one of the serious threats that can damage the quality of the generation, destroy families, increase social and health burdens, and weaken national resilience. Narcotics do not only rob a person’s health; narcotics rob the future of families, damage the quality of the generation, and ultimately threaten the future of the nation,” Suyudi said.
