Deputy for Eradication at the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) Brigadier General Roy Hardi Siahaan said the operation took place on Friday (8 May) in Balikpapan and Samarinda. The four suspects arrested are network associates of M. Fathurahman alias Maboy, who is currently at large.

‘The operation was conducted by a joint team of BNN RI and the Kutai Timur Police of East Kalimantan,’ Roy told reporters on Wednesday (20 May 2026).

The four detainees were identified as IPK, RA, RR and MA. Officers also seized 92 kilograms of meth from the arrests.

‘The evidence comprises five suitcases containing 90 packages with a gross weight of 92 kg,’ Roy explained.

Roy said authorities also recovered 1,000 vape cartridges containing etomidate, as well as two cars and 12 communication devices. Investigations expanded to a house in South Jakarta, at which time officers seized two cars and three mobile phones.

According to Roy, the fugitive M. Fathurahman alias Maboy is a kingpin who controls drug distribution across Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Bali and Java. Maboy, also known as F, has now been named a suspect and placed on the Wanted Persons List (DPO).

‘F is already a DPO in narcotics and TPPU cases. Some of his assets have also been seized in Kalimantan, Java and Bali,’ Roy added.
