BNN Arrests 'Fat Boss' Drug Lord, Seizes Billions in Assets

The National Narcotics Agency (BNN), supported by the police, has arrested a high-profile drug lord known as MR, or ‘Fat Boss’, in the Kampung Bahari area. The suspect, a fugitive since 2025, was wanted for his role in an inter-provincial narcotics network and was captured along with two loyalists during a raid on Thursday morning.

BNN’s Director of Enforcement and Pursuit, Brigadier General Roy Hardy Siahaan, stated that the operation began on Wednesday night, tracking the suspect from Kampung Bahari to the Mangga Besar area. The arrest was carried out at a beauty salon in Kampung Bahari. ‘We are still pursuing other members of this network. There are several perpetrators who brought drugs to Kampung Bahari from other provinces, and we are continuing to track them down,’ Roy said during a press conference at the North Jakarta BNN office.

Roy explained that MR was a fugitive linked to a November 2025 case involving the possession of 98 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine. As part of the investigation into money laundering, the BNN has seized cash amounting to Rp 1.277 billion. The total value of assets confiscated from the suspect has reached Rp 39.95 billion. The two associates arrested with MR are currently undergoing intensive interrogation to determine the full extent of their involvement in the syndicate.
