BNN Aceh Destroys Evidence in Case Involving 4.9 kg of Crystal Meth
The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of Aceh Province has destroyed drug case evidence from suspects Muhammad Miksal Mina alias Muncen bin Nasrullah and others. A total of 4.9 kg of crystal meth was destroyed.
The destruction took place on Thursday (16/4/2026). The evidence destroyed consisted of 4,994.24 grams or 4.9 kg of crystal meth (methamphetamine).
From this amount, BNN retained 5 grams for evidentiary purposes in court. This evidence will be destroyed after the trial concludes.
The evidence originated from a drug bust in Bireuen on 25 February 2026. At that time, BNN Aceh arrested Mina and Basri while they were driving a vehicle on the Medan-Banda Aceh cross-road.
For their actions, the suspects are charged under Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of Law No. 35 of 2009 on Narcotics, as well as provisions in the new Criminal Code. BNN states that this destruction is a form of transparency to the public.
BNN Chief: Narcotics a Humanitarian Issue, Not Merely Criminality
Previously, BNN Chief Komjen Suyudi stated that eradicating narcotics is one of the implementations of President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita. He also said that combating narcotics is a prerequisite for building superior human resources.
“Waging war against narcotics for humanity certainly aligns with Mr. President’s Asta Cita. Especially point 7 regarding the eradication of narcotics as part of legal reform and national resilience,” said Suyudi during a press conference on the drug case revelation at Bareskrim Polri, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (22/10).
The former Banten Police Chief then mentioned that the drug problem is a humanitarian issue. He said narcotics are not merely criminal.
“Narcotics are viewed as a humanitarian issue, not just criminality. Drug users are victims who must be healed through rehabilitation, not prison,” he stated.
