BNI's Participation in 2026 BUMN Free Homecoming Programme Welcomed Enthusiastically
The 2026 BUMN Free Homecoming Programme, participated in by PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI, has received a positive reception from the public. BNI has transported more than 7,000 homecomers in stages to various destinations on Java and Sumatra. Of this number, approximately 1,500 homecomers were released in a ceremony centred at Ring Road Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), Jakarta, on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.
One of the free homecoming participants, Budi Arief, admitted to being greatly assisted by this programme, particularly in curbing high travel costs during the homecoming season. “In my view, it is very beneficial, especially for friends who want to go home when public transport fares are very expensive, while this is all free and facilitated by SOEs,” said Budi.
He added that the registration process was relatively easy and well-organised. He stated that participants only needed to register by showing their identity and BNI account, then follow the stages from queuing for tickets to the distribution of homecoming supplies. “The process is neat, from registration to the distribution of supplies like T-shirts, hats, and food. So we feel well-served,” he said.
In addition to providing transportation facilities, participants also received a homecoming supplies package that supports travel comfort. This is seen as enhancing a more organised and comfortable homecoming experience for the public.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said that BNI’s participation in this programme is part of the company’s commitment to providing services to the public while supporting the smooth flow of Eid al-Fitr homecoming. “Through this programme, BNI hopes that homecomers can experience a safe and comfortable journey and can gather with family in their hometowns,” said Okki.
He added that BNI’s involvement in the BUMN Free Homecoming programme is also expected to help reduce the travel cost burden on the public and support a more orderly distribution of homecoming traffic.
The 2026 BUMN Free Homecoming Programme becomes one of the collaborative initiatives among SOEs to provide safe, comfortable, and affordable transportation solutions for the public. In the future, similar programmes are hoped to continue and provide broader benefits for Indonesian society.
