PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI is committed to supporting the improvement of public health quality. This was demonstrated through the Healthy Village Free of Stunting programme in Pangalengan District, Bandung Regency, West Java. The programme targets four villages: Sukamanah, Banjarsari, Wanasuka, and Margamukti. The programme, part of BNI Berbagi, is implemented in collaboration with the Pangalengan District Government and the Sukamanah Community Health Centre. Through this programme, BNI provides nutritional support and health education for vulnerable groups, including children at risk of stunting, pregnant women with chronic energy deficiency, and adolescent girls. BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo stated that the Healthy Village Free of Stunting programme represents the company’s contribution to supporting the agenda of improving human resource quality, particularly through public health and nutrition interventions. “This Healthy Village Free of Stunting programme is a manifestation of BNI’s contribution to improving the quality of public health, especially for groups vulnerable to nutritional problems. This programme is part of BNI’s commitment to delivering real and sustainable benefits to the community,” Okki said. In its implementation, BNI provided Recovery Supplementary Feeding Packages to 65 children at risk of stunting for 52 consecutive days. Additionally, the company distributed Nutrition Packages to 12 pregnant women with chronic energy deficiency for 60 consecutive days. The programme also includes providing nutrition and blood supplement tablets to 50 adolescent girls as an early stunting prevention measure. The entire series of interventions will be carried out over three months with periodic assistance and monitoring to ensure the programme’s effectiveness. Okki explained that stunting management is a key priority in national development. According to him, stunting prevention must be undertaken early because the condition can hinder child growth and development and have long-term impacts on the quality of human resources. Bandung Regency was chosen as the programme location because it still requires strengthened stunting prevention efforts. Based on the 2024 Indonesian Nutritional Status Survey data, the stunting prevalence in Bandung Regency was recorded at 24.1 percent, higher than the West Java provincial average. Beyond nutritional fulfilment, the Healthy Village Free of Stunting programme is also directed at increasing community knowledge about family health, strengthening the role of integrated health posts, and encouraging the creation of an environment that optimally supports child growth and development. BNI believes that successful stunting management requires cross-sector collaboration involving the government, health workers, businesses, and the community. Therefore, this programme is designed with an integrated approach through health education, family assistance, and monitoring of beneficiaries’ conditions. “Synergy between the business sector, government, health workers, and the community is a key element in creating a healthy and high-quality generation. Based on the spirit of serving wholeheartedly, BNI will continue to expand its contribution to supporting stunting prevention and improving public health quality as part of a long-term investment to prepare the nation’s superior future generations,” Okki said. BNI affirmed that high-quality human resource development must begin from an early age. Through the BNI Berbagi programme, the company is committed to delivering social programmes that have a real impact on the community while supporting the national development agenda towards Golden Indonesia 2045.
