BNI to Shut Down Internet Banking on 4 May, Customers Must Do This
PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk will close its Internet Banking service starting 4 May 2026. Customers are urged to promptly switch to the new platform, namely wondr by BNI for retail and BNIdirect for business needs.
This policy forms part of the company’s ongoing digital transformation. The old service will be phased out gradually before full closure.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo stated that access restrictions will commence first on 21 April 2026. Thereafter, the Internet Banking service will no longer be usable.
“This transformation is part of BNI’s commitment to delivering more secure, faster, and relevant digital services tailored to customer needs,” Okki said, quoted on Wednesday (8/4/2026).
He assured that the transition process will not disrupt transaction activities. BNI also guarantees the security of customer data and transaction history in line with banking standards.
Retail customers are directed to use the wondr by BNI app, which can be downloaded via the Play Store or App Store. Meanwhile, business and corporate customers will be served through BNIdirect, designed for business transaction needs.
BNI encourages customers to migrate immediately to avoid disruptions when the old service is discontinued. Support is also prepared through call centres, branches, and official information channels.
For the public, this change marks a shift in banking services that increasingly rely on digital applications. Accessibility improves on one hand, but on the other, it demands greater customer adaptability and vigilance in maintaining transaction security.
This step also reinforces the direction of the banking industry, which is increasingly moving away from conventional web-based services towards more integrated digital platforms.
