BNI Takes These Steps to Strengthen Synergy with Merchants
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, is strengthening its relationships and collaboration with strategic merchants through the BNI wondrful Iftar with Merchant 2026. The event took place at the Fairmont Jakarta Hotel and was attended by around 70 merchants from various retail segments.
The event was also attended by members of the BNI Board of Directors and management, including Vice President Director Alexandra Askandar and Director of Consumer Banking Corina Leyla Karnalies. The merchants present came from chain store, local store, and retail store segments, which have long been strategic partners of BNI in developing the digital transaction ecosystem.
Alexandra said Ramadan is an important moment for BNI to strengthen ties and deepen cooperation with merchants.
“Ramadan is a moment of togetherness, reflection, and strengthening bonds of kinship. For us at BNI, Ramadan is also an important moment to intensify collaboration and drive business growth with merchants,” Alexandra said in a written statement quoted on Friday (6/3/2026).
Under the theme ‘Celebrate Your Ramadan Victory with wondr’, the event provided a space for BNI and merchants to exchange views and strengthen long-term partnerships, especially in leveraging the momentum of increased transaction activity during Ramadan.
On this occasion, BNI also introduced a range of digital solutions designed to support the optimisation of merchants’ businesses. Innovations introduced include the development of the wondr Merchant app with same-day settlement and 24-hour transaction monitoring.
Additionally, BNI showcased contactless payment services through QRIS Tap wondr by BNI, system integration via API and Electronic Cash Register (ECR), and support for global payment acceptance such as Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, and China UnionPay.
BNI also provides integrated business transaction management solutions through BNI Direct for Business, as well as various digital payment channels such as EDC, QRIS, Internet Payment Gateway, and Payment Link to support faster, safer, and more efficient transaction experiences for merchants.
“Through the various innovations and programmes we are presenting, we hope to increase traffic and transaction volumes for merchants while strengthening our business synergies with BNI,” said Alexandra.
