BNI Strengthens Educational Equity Through Scholarship Programme

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, continues to strengthen its commitment to improving education quality in Indonesia, in line with the spirit of National Education Day (Hardiknas), commemorated every 2 May. One concrete step taken is the distribution of scholarships to students in need and with achievements. This programme is part of BNI’s efforts to support the development of superior and competitive human resources for the future. From 2025 to April 2026, the BNI Berbagi programme has distributed scholarships to more than 1,000 students from various educational levels, from primary school to higher education. This initiative represents BNI’s tangible contribution to expanding equitable access to education across Indonesia. BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo stated that through the BNI Berbagi programme, the company consistently supports the government in promoting equitable access to education. “The momentum of Hardiknas serves as a reminder to us all that education is the primary foundation in building the nation’s future. BNI remains committed to being present and making real contributions to improving education quality in Indonesia,” said Okki in a written statement. Furthermore, he explained that this initiative not only focuses on enhancing academic capacity but also on character formation and financial literacy so that society is better prepared to face future economic challenges. The scholarship programme is also accompanied by mentoring and educational activities to ensure that the benefits received by recipients are optimal and sustainable. In the future, BNI is committed to expanding the programme’s reach to the outermost, outermost, and underdeveloped areas (3T). “BNI is committed to continuing to expand the reach of this programme so that its benefits can be felt more widely by communities in various regions of Indonesia,” emphasised Okki. Through these various initiatives, BNI hopes to contribute to producing a generation that is not only academically excellent but also possesses strong character for a better future Indonesia.
