PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, is strengthening its business fundamentals to align with the transformation agenda of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and the creation of long-term value within the Danantara Indonesia ecosystem. Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo stated that as part of the SOE network, BNI continues to reinforce corporate governance, risk management, internal control effectiveness, digital capabilities, and capital structure to make the company’s fundamentals increasingly robust. He noted that this commitment is in line with the direction of SOE transformation alongside Danantara Indonesia, which has a mandate to manage and optimise government investments and SOE assets to support national strategic programmes, industrialisation, and sustainable economic growth. One manifestation of this fundamental strengthening is the issuance of an Additional Tier 1, or AT1, instrument worth 700 million US dollars in the international market. The transformation is directed at improving efficiency, strengthening competitiveness, and delivering services that are increasingly relevant to customer needs. Okkie added that the reinforcement of governance and fundamentals also serves as capital for BNI to carry out its intermediation function in a healthy manner. He affirmed that BNI will continue to strengthen its governance and corporate fundamentals to create long-term value for the public, support SOE transformation with Danantara Indonesia, and contribute to Indonesia’s progress. Through the strengthening of governance, capital, and business transformation, BNI seeks to maintain stakeholder trust while enhancing its capacity to support Indonesia’s sustainable economic growth.
