PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BBNI) has returned the entire funds of the Credit Union (CU) Paroki Aek Nabara, totalling Rp28 billion, which were previously embezzled by the former Head of BNI Aek Nabara Branch Office, Andi Hakim Febriansyah.

“The process of returning the funds to the CU Paroki Aek Nabara customers has been completed,” said BNI’s Director of Human Capital and Compliance, Mudani Herlambang, during a press conference at Graha BNI in Jakarta on Wednesday (22/4/2026).

According to him, this is good news as the case has become a public issue and concern. Today, BNI has returned the funds by transferring Rp21,257,360,600 to CU Paroki Aek Nabara. This amount complements the previous return of Rp7 billion.

“Thus, the total funds returned reach Rp28,257,360,600, so the fund return process is complete,” he emphasised.

BNI also conveyed its appreciation and apologies for the patience and cooperation from all parties during the process. “Furthermore, we view this process as a joint effort to resolve the problem properly,” he added.

He stressed that BNI’s focus is to ensure the resolution proceeds smoothly and provides certainty for all parties. On the other hand, BNI also extended apologies to Catholics throughout Indonesia, especially the CU Paroki Aek Nabara congregation and the public, for the inconvenience that has occurred.

“We understand the concerns and impacts felt by the affected parties in this incident,” he stated.

With the completion of this fund return, he hopes that public trust can continue to be maintained. At the same time, this incident serves as a collective lesson for the entire banking sector, and BNI will continue to commit to providing the best services for the Indonesian people.

On the same occasion, Natalia Situmorang, representative of CU Aek Nabara, expressed appreciation to BNI and the assisting parties, including Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI Dasco, who have given attention to this case.

“We are confident and believe that the incident we experienced becomes a lesson for all of us, for us, and we believe this becomes a source of blessing for us all,” she said.

She stated that they are confident and believe that banking institutions are a comfortable place to store money. “Even though sometimes we face difficulties, this is one moment for us to learn, especially to be further educated in the banking usage process,” she concluded.
