BNI Records Net Profit of Rp 5.68 Trillion in Q1 2026, Up 5.04%
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, recorded a consolidated net profit of Rp 5.68 trillion throughout the first quarter of 2026.
BNI President Director Putrama Wahju Setyawan stated that this achievement resulted from a combination of healthy business growth.
“BNI continues to maintain growth momentum by prioritising principles of prudence and discipline in risk management amid challenging global dynamics,” he said in a written statement on Wednesday (29/4/2026).
Based on the company’s consolidated financial report, the net profit of the issuer coded BBNI for this period increased by approximately 5.04% compared to the first quarter of 2025, which stood at Rp 5.41 trillion.
Meanwhile, the company’s non-interest income for this period grew by 12.6% year-on-year (yoy), driven by an increase in fees from transactions on digital platforms. This non-interest income growth was higher than the net interest income (NII) growth of 12.1% (yoy) to Rp 11.02 trillion.
This positive performance supports the achievement of Operational Income before Provisions (PPOP) of Rp 9.3 trillion, which is the highest compared to the first quarters of previous years.
On the asset side, the company recorded growth of 4.75% to Rp 1.42 trillion from Rp 1.36 trillion in the first quarter of 2025.
Asset quality was also well maintained, with the non-performing loan (NPL) ratio improving to 1.9%, Loan at Risk at 8.6%—better than pre-pandemic levels—and credit cost at 1.1%, in line with guidance.
BNI’s financial fundamentals remain strong, as reflected in a Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) of 83.5% and a Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) of 18.5%, well above regulatory requirements.
“This performance demonstrates a balance between business growth, efficiency, and disciplined risk management,” said Paolo.
