BNI Provides Health Services for Communities Affected by NTT Disaster
PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, continues to channel support for communities affected by the disaster in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) through the provision of health services, trauma healing facilities, clean water, and logistical support in a number of affected areas.
One such form of support is being delivered through the BNI Berbagi BUMN Peduli NTT post at Lapangan Berdikari, Danga, Mbay. The post provides health services, trauma healing facilities, evacuation tents, clean water, and logistical support for the community during the emergency response and recovery period.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said the move is part of the bank’s effort to respond to community needs in stages as the post-disaster situation develops.
“Assistance will continue to be distributed in stages, adjusting to developments in needs on the ground. Through health services, trauma healing, and other basic needs support, we hope affected communities can obtain the support they need during the emergency response period through to the recovery process,” Okki said in a written statement on Thursday (20/8/2026).
Trauma healing facilities are being provided as part of psychosocial recovery support, particularly for children and vulnerable groups. The facilities are expected to provide a safe and comfortable space for the community to receive assistance and help restore emotional well-being after facing the disaster.
In addition, BNI is also providing health check-up services, clean water, and stocks of basic necessities to help meet the needs of communities in affected locations.
To support services and handling on the ground, BNI has also provided tents in a number of areas, including Maumere, Kewapante, Ritapiret, Cibal, Ruteng, Borong, and Mbay. The placement of tents is tailored to the needs of each location, including supporting health facility activities, public services, and providing temporary shelter for residents.
Previously, through the BNI Berbagi programme, basic needs assistance had reached Ende, Borong, Labuan Bajo, Maumere, and Ruteng. The support was provided in stages to help communities and displaced people meet their daily needs during the emergency response period while also supporting the recovery process.
Okki added that BNI will continue to coordinate with local governments and relevant parties to ensure the support provided matches community needs. Evaluations are also carried out periodically to determine further forms of assistance as the situation develops.
“BNI, together with other state-owned enterprises, will continue to be present and coordinate with local governments and relevant parties to ensure support can be provided appropriately and deliver real benefits to affected communities,” Okki said.
As part of the state-owned enterprise ecosystem under the coordination of Danantara Indonesia, BNI continues to carry out its social role in supporting communities facing emergency conditions and the post-disaster recovery process.
This commitment is in line with the spirit of Swadharma Bhakti Nagara in BNI’s 80-year journey to continue Serving Wholeheartedly and providing benefits for society and the nation.
