The co-working space at the University Library and Archives of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has been modernised by PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, to support learning, collaboration, and the development of student creativity on campus. The inauguration took place on Tuesday, 13 May, and was attended by UGM Rector Prof. Ova Emilia and BNI’s Director of Institutional Affairs, Eko Setyo Nugroho. ‘For us, collaboration with higher education institutions is not merely an institutional relationship, but a tangible manifestation of BNI’s commitment to advancing the world of education with a spirit of wholehearted service,’ Eko said in a written statement received in Jakarta. He noted that the co-working space is designed as a venue for collaboration and innovation that can be utilised by students and the academic community to develop ideas and creativity with societal impact. BNI says strengthening the synergy between education and banking sectors is increasingly important in light of changing learning patterns and technological advances that drive demand for more flexible learning spaces. UGM Rector Prof. Ova Emilia said that modern collaboration spaces have become an essential need in university environments because they promote more dynamic interaction and learning processes. ‘Now, co-working spaces are not quiet places, but spaces where people interact and also undertake the learning process,’ she said. He added that the facilities are expected to improve the quality of library services while also providing a more comfortable, modern learning space that supports interaction among students and lecturers. In addition to developing educational facilities, BNI also appreciates UGM’s trust in appointing the company as a campus banking partner and says it will continue delivering financial solutions to support the needs of the academic community through integrated banking services. BNI emphasised that ongoing collaboration with universities is expected to help create a more inclusive, innovative, and sustainable education ecosystem.
