BNI Invites Customers to Reduce Emissions Through wondr earth Feature

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI is inviting customers to play an active role in environmental preservation by introducing the wondr earth feature on the wondr by BNI app. Through this feature, customers can calculate their carbon footprint while taking concrete actions such as planting trees to offset emissions generated from daily activities. “Through the wondr earth feature, BNI is inviting customers to contribute directly to environmental protection,” said BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo. According to him, customers can not only calculate their carbon footprint but also plant trees and monitor their contributions transparently, from locations to the growth progress of the trees. Customers can also access a carbon calculator via the feature to assess the environmental impact of their daily activities. The calculation results are then converted into recommendations for the number of trees that need to be planted to offset the generated carbon footprint. To participate, customers simply need to open the Lifestyle menu on the wondr by BNI app, follow the carbon footprint calculation process, and then select the planting location and complete the sapling purchase transaction after data verification and fund confirmation. Once the transaction is successful, the tree planting contribution can be monitored through the ‘Your Contribution’ feature, which displays information transparently, including the location and development of the planted trees. BNI views this approach as a concrete step in integrating digital banking services with environmental conservation efforts, while also raising customer awareness of the importance of carbon emission management. “Through this innovation, BNI hopes that more customers will engage in real actions to protect the environment and support sustainable carbon emission reduction,” said Okki. The wondr earth initiative strengthens BNI’s position in promoting sustainable finance practices, while offering banking services that go beyond transactions to deliver positive environmental impacts.
