BNI introduces digital payment solutions for Indonesia Open 2026
PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) is introducing an integrated digital payment ecosystem for the Indonesia Open 2026 at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, to support transaction convenience for visitors throughout the tournament.
Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo stated that visitors can utilise digital payment services via electronic data capture (EDC) machines and QRIS through the ‘wondr by BNI’ application at various transaction points, including ticket booths, merchandise stalls, and food vendors. “BNI is providing various digital payment channels that can be easily used by both visitors and tenants during the Indonesia Open,” Okki said in a written statement in Jakarta on Friday.
According to him, the provision of these digital payment services is part of the company’s efforts to offer easy, secure, and reliable transaction services, following the increasing use of digital financial services among the public. BNI noted that more than 50 culinary tenants and supporting businesses are participating in the badminton tournament. Through the support of EDC and QRIS, transactions are expected to be faster and more efficient without relying on cash.
He added that BNI’s support for the Indonesia Open is part of a long-term partnership with the Badminton Association of Indonesia (PBSI), which includes support for athlete development, tournament organisation, and the provision of financial service infrastructure. Furthermore, the momentum of the Indonesia Open 2024 is being utilised by the company to expand the use of digital banking services through the ‘wondr by BNI’ application, which provides various transaction and banking services for customers.
BNI considers the digitalisation of payments in various public activities, including sporting events, to be a crucial factor in driving financial inclusion and the national digital economic transformation. The company hopes that the continuous development of digital services will support the creation of a more integrated transaction experience for the public, including during the hosting of international sporting events such as the Indonesia Open 2026.
