BNI Fully Returns CU Aek Nabara Depositors' Funds and Apologises to the Public
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI today announced the full return of funds to depositors of the Credit Union (CU) Paroki Aek Nabara in North Sumatra. This repayment statement was delivered by BNI’s Director of Human Capital and Compliance, Mudani Herlambang, in the presence of the CU Paroki Aek Nabara Treasurer, Natalia Situmorang, at Grha BNI, Jakarta, on Wednesday (22/4/2026). “Today, we bring good news to the entire community. The process of returning funds to the CU Paroki Aek Nabara depositors has been fully completed,” said Mudani. Mudani explained that BNI has transferred credit funds amounting to Rp21,257,360,600 to the CU Paroki Aek Nabara depositors, supplementing the previous repayment of Rp7 billion. Thus, he stated, the total funds returned amount to Rp28,257,360,600, completing the repayment process. “We also express our thanks for the patience and cooperation from all parties during this process,” Mudani added. Mudani described this process as a collective effort to resolve the issue amicably. He emphasised that BNI’s focus is to ensure the resolution proceeds smoothly and provides certainty to all parties. “On the other hand, BNI also extends an apology to the Catholic community throughout Indonesia, particularly the CU Paroki Aek Nabara congregation, and the public for the inconvenience that has occurred,” said Mudani. Mudani understands the concerns and impacts felt by those affected in this incident. With the completion of this fund repayment, BNI hopes that public trust can be maintained. “At the same time, let this incident serve as a shared lesson for all parties; BNI will continue to commit to providing the best services to the Indonesian people,” said Mudani.
