BNI Dispatches 7,000 Homebound Travellers in BUMN Free Mudik Programme 2026
PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, commonly known as BNI, is dispatching over 7,000 homebound travellers as part of the Free Mudik BUMN 2026 programme. This initiative supports the smooth flow of Eid al-Fitr holiday travel whilst providing essential services to the public.
The programme demonstrates BNI’s commitment to delivering public services with the spirit of “Serving with All Our Heart”.
A total of 1,500 travellers were dispatched on Tuesday, 17 March 2026, during a launch ceremony centred at Ring Road Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) in Jakarta, held jointly with several other state-owned enterprises (BUMNs). The event was themed “Comfortable Mudik Together: Safe Travel, Shared Hope”.
The launch ceremony was attended by Head of BUMN Regulatory Agency Dony Oskaria, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Deputy Head of BUMN Regulatory Agency Tedi Bharata, Managing Director of Stakeholder Management BPI Danantara Rohan Hafas, and other BUMN leaders including BNI Deputy Managing Director Alexandra Askandar.
Alexandra stated that BNI’s participation in this programme forms part of the company’s contribution to supporting public mobility ahead of Eid al-Fitr. “Through the Free Mudik BUMN 2026 programme, BNI wishes to facilitate people in returning to their hometowns safely and comfortably. This programme also represents our commitment to ensuring that people can celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their loved ones,” Alexandra said in a written statement.
Beyond the departure from GBK, BNI operates additional departure points: BNI Region 10 on Gatot Subroto in Central Jakarta, BNI Region 12 on Jalan Lada in West Jakarta, BNI Region 14 at BNI Plaza BSD in South Tangerang, and BNI Region 15 in the Jatinegara area of East Jakarta.
Participants are dispatched along five main routes: Jakarta–Purwokerto, Jakarta–Semarang, Jakarta–Yogyakarta (via Solo), Jakarta–Surabaya, and Jakarta–Malang (via Surabaya). All journeys utilise the Cikampek and Trans Java toll roads, with exit points tailored to each traveller’s destination.
To ensure travel comfort, programme participants also receive mudik supply packages distributed on 14 March 2026 at Grha BNI in Jakarta. Programme registration opened from 27 February to 9 March 2026, followed by re-registration on 12–13 March 2026.
Alexandra expressed hope that the programme will help people enjoy safer, more comfortable and better organised travel. “BNI hopes all travellers arrive at their hometowns safely and can celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their families in happiness,” she said.
Through participation in the Free Mudik BUMN 2026 programme, BNI reaffirms its role in supporting social initiatives that provide direct benefits to the public. This initiative is expected not only to facilitate smooth holiday travel flows, but also to strengthen BNI’s presence as an institution actively serving the community with wholehearted commitment.
