PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI) has reported the appointment of Febrio Nathan Kacaribu as a Non-Independent Commissioner to the Financial Services Authority (OJK), effective 17 April 2026.

This information was disclosed in a stock exchange filing to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI).

BNI’s Corporate Secretary, Okki Rushartomo, stated that the report fulfils the company’s obligation for information disclosure in accordance with regulatory requirements.

BNI explained that the appointment of Febrio Nathan Kacaribu as a Non-Independent Commissioner was approved by the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) and the regulator.

“The Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders of the Company for 2025, held on 15 December 2025, has approved the appointment of Mr Febrio Nathan Kacaribu as a Non-Independent Commissioner of the Company,” the company stated, as quoted on Monday (20 April 2026).

“Subsequently, through OJK Letter No. SR-291/PB.13/2026 dated 17 April 2026, the OJK provided a copy of the Decision of the OJK Board of Commissioners Member No. KEPR-48/D.03/2026 dated 17 April 2026, which approves the appointment of Mr Febrio Nathan Kacaribu as a Non-Independent Commissioner of the Company,” the company added.

“In connection with the above and considering the relevant OJK regulations, we hereby report the effective date of the appointment of Mr Febrio Nathan Kacaribu as a Non-Independent Commissioner of the Company on 17 April 2026,” the company disclosed.

In the same report, BBNI stated that this event does not affect the company’s operational activities, legal status, financial condition, or business continuity.

Febrio Nathan Kacaribu has a strong background in economics, both domestically and internationally.

He subsequently earned a Master of International and Development Economics from Australian National University in 2005, as well as a PhD in economics from the University of Kansas, United States.

In his career, Febrio began as an academic and researcher at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia (FEB UI).

He also served as Head of Macroeconomic and Financial Research at the Institute for Economic and Social Research (LPEM) FEB UI since 2015, focusing on macroeconomic issues, the financial sector, and public policy analysis.

In this role, he contributed to the formulation of national fiscal policies, including responses to global and domestic economic dynamics.

With the reorganisation of the Ministry of Finance, Febrio was appointed as Director-General of Economic and Fiscal Strategy on 23 May 2025.
