BMW's sales rise

JAKARTA (JP): BMW car sales in Indonesia rose 85.5 percent to 1,074 units during the first three months of this year from 579 in the same period last year.

BMW's sole agent said the Indonesian market recorded the strongest growth compared to markets in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.

BMW's total sales in the six markets increased by 34 percent to 5,581 units from 4,177 units in the period under review.

Taiwan led the pack with 1,734 units, followed by Indonesia with 1,074, Thailand with 998, Malaysia with 726, Singapore 640 and Hong Kong with 531. (rid)
