BMW sells 929 cars as of June

JAKARTA: PT BMW Indonesia said on Thursday it had sold 929 cars in the first half of the year, boosted by robust sales of the BMW 3-series, which accounted for up to 60.5 percent of the German- based car producer's total sales in this country.

BMW Indonesia president Josef Honsel said that the company was in for even better prospects in the second half of the year, with sales expected to be boosted by the company's expansion of its model range, such as the Indonesia-assembled 520i and 530i models as well as the new BMW X3.

BMW Indonesia is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bayerische Motoren Werke (BMW) AG, the world manufacturer of BMW vehicles based in Munich, Germany. BMW has a 40.7 percent share in Indonesia's European premium vehicle market. -- JP
