BMW Sedan Attacked by Mob in West Jakarta After Hit-and-Run

A BMW sedan was damaged by a mob after allegedly being involved in a hit-and-run incident on Jalan Meruya Selatan, Kebon Jeruk District, West Jakarta, on Monday (22/6). The incident was recorded on video and circulated on social media. In the footage, a black BMW with the registration number B-77-NRI is seen with damage to its rear window and body. Several motorcyclists also attempted to stop the car, but the driver ignored them and continued driving. When confirmed, AKP Joko Siswanto, Head of the Traffic Accident Unit at the West Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Division, explained that prior to the accident, the electric car driven by ASW (26) was travelling on Jalan Meruya Selatan from north to south. Upon arriving in front of Mercu Buana University, it collided with a motorcycle ridden by S, who was travelling from south to north. The motorcyclist suffered abrasions on the hands and feet. The victim was subsequently taken for treatment to Kembangan Regional General Hospital. The suspected cause of the accident is still under investigation.
