BMW Brilliance’s Shenyang plant in Liaoning Province, China, has completed production of its 7 millionth vehicle on Thursday (28 May), a remarkable achievement reflecting BMW Group’s long-term commitment to the Chinese market.

‘For over 30 years, we have been deeply rooted in China. The 7 millionth BMW vehicle produced at our Shenyang plant marks a significant milestone in this success story, showcasing the strength of our local manufacturing,’ said Raymond Wittmann, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Production.

‘With the local production of the Neue Klasse starting this year-end, we are ushering in the next chapter and a new era for BMW in China,’ he added.

Since the first locally produced BMW vehicle in 2003 up to this 7 millionth milestone, BMW has built a comprehensive system in China encompassing vehicle and powertrain manufacturing, localised research and development, and a localised supply chain, making it one of BMW’s most important global production and innovation hubs, according to the company.

The Shenyang facility, capital of Liaoning Province, is the largest production base operated by BMW Group worldwide.

‘Alongside our flagship products, we have established a future-ready production system in Shenyang, strong local expertise, and an exceptional team whose skills drive our innovation and success in China,’ said Birgit Boehm, President and CEO of BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd.

‘Building on this solid foundation, we are accelerating towards a new era through innovation, deeper localization, and smart manufacturing to open the next chapter in BMW’s development in China,’ Boehm added.
