BMW 7-Series now available for dignitaries

The Jakarta Post, Jakarta

Business leaders and prominent dignitaries in Indonesia will have
a new option in driving comfort and style with the launch of the
latest BMW 7 Series at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, South Jakarta.

"I am very pleased today to present to you the third new BMW
models introduced in 2005, the new BMW 7 Series," said PT BMW
Indonesia President Director Joseph Honsel. "In Indonesia, since
the launch of the model in mid 2002 we have delivered 156 units
of the 7 Series to our customers."

The company believes that the introduction of the latest
models will strengthen its image as "the most prestigious and
luxurious brand in the premium car segment".

In an effort to satisfy its customers, the company has also
introduced its BMW Individual for the 7 Series, which allows
customers to personalize their cars starting from the color of
the exterior and interior, the leather and the trim as well as
the multifunctional center console, bar compartment and even
multifunctional communication unit for Internet or TV.

The idea of providing BMW Individual -- produced by BMW M
GmbH, a division of BMW AG that develops sport and high
performance BMW M cars -- is to fulfill the desire to drive an
automobile that entirely meets customers' individual taste and
lifestyle.

"We are offering customers a choice of an exclusive
combination of exterior color, leather color and trims that fit
their individual taste and lifestyle," Honsel said.

During the launch, an "individualized" car was on display. The
car has a rear seat which can be electronically adjusted and is
equipped with a center console with two tables, a TV monitor for
back seat occupants and a mini bar compartment in the center of
the rear seats.

What about the price? The company's director of corporate
communications Helena Abidin said it would be different from one
customer to another, depending on how many features they want.

The new 7 Series, a facelift of the previous one, still
retains the company's "family design" of wide kidney grille but
has "stronger lines" on the bonnet to give a sportier character
to the car.

At the side the even more pronounced light contour in the
side-sills emphasizes the enhanced sportiness and dynamic
character of the BMW 7 Series.

The fact that most BMW 7 Series are chauffeur-driven cars has
prompted the Muenchen-based carmaker to feature comfortable seats
with electronic adjustment, adjustable lumbar support (depth and
height) and seatback adjustment to fit the seat into the body
shape of the passengers.

Just like other BMW high-end models, the new 7 Series is also
equipped with iDrive control, which was introduced in 2001.

The new 7 Series is entering the domestic market with four
models -- 730 Li, 740 Li, 750 Li and 760 Li. The first three come
with three new engines, offering a significant increase in
output, performance, motoring refinement and economy.

To reduce the weight of the engine to an absolute minimum, BMW
is using magnesium for the first time in volume production, with
weight down by 30 percent compared with aluminum.

BMW also provides safety features including 10 airbags, Brake
Force Display and standard run-flat tires on its wheels. The
latest technology has also been introduced in other BMW models,
with which a driver can still drive even with a puncture without
having to stop although the four wheels are completely flat for a
distance of 150 kilometers at a speed of 80 kilometers per hour
(kph).

Indonesia's haves can own the completely built up 730 Li and
740 Li at the price of Rp 1.4 billion (US$145,100) and Rp 1.975
billion respectively. The prices of the BMW 750 Li and 760 Li
will be available for customers upon request.
