BMKG warns of potential very heavy rainfall in several regions on Wednesday
Jakarta — Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has warned that several regions across Indonesia face the potential for very heavy rainfall on Wednesday.
According to the BMKG’s official Instagram account (@infobmkg), the regions at risk of experiencing heavy to very heavy rainfall include the Bangka Belitung Islands, East Java, East Nusa Tenggara, Central Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, and Mountainous Papua.
In Indonesia’s western region, the BMKG forecasts the potential for thunderstorms in Banjarmasin and Tanjung Selor, along with moderate rainfall in Semarang. Meanwhile, light rain is predicted to fall across most areas of Sumatera.
Additionally, light rainfall is expected to affect the regions of Serang, Bandung, Surabaya, Pontianak, Palangkaraya, and Samarinda. Jakarta and Yogyakarta are forecast to experience thick cloud cover.
Light rainfall is also anticipated in Denpasar, Mataram, Kupang, most areas of Sulawesi, Ternate, Ambon, and most regions of Papua.
