BMKG forecaster Alya Sausan stated during a weather broadcast on Thursday that the circulation system has been detected stretching across the Pacific Ocean north of West Papua, the northern coast of Papua, and the Pacific Ocean waters northeast of Papua. This system is forming convergence and confluence zones extending across the waters north of Southwest Papua, the waters north of Papua, Papua Pegunungan, the South China Sea, Sulawesi, and northern Kalimantan, which could enhance rain cloud growth. Alya explained that for western Indonesia, moderate intensity rain should be anticipated in the Tanjung Selor area. Meanwhile, light rain is forecast for Banda Aceh, Medan, Pekanbaru, Padang, Tanjung Pinang, Jambi, Bengkulu, Pangkal Pinang, Palembang, Pontianak, Samarinda, Palangkaraya, Banjarmasin, and Bandung. Turning to eastern Indonesia, the BMKG has asked the public to be alert for potential rain accompanied by lightning or thunder in Manado and Ternate, as well as moderate intensity rain in Mamuju. Light rain in the eastern region is forecast to affect Palu, Sorong, Manokwari, Ambon, Nabire, Jayapura, Jayawijaya, Merauke, and Kupang, alongside potential smoke or haze in Kendari and hazy conditions in Mataram.
