The Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) has confirmed that the flash floods that struck Solok Regency, West Sumatra, on Monday (21/9) night were triggered by heavy rainfall with an intensity reaching 94 millimetres per day.
Acting Deputy for Meteorology at BMKG, Andri Ramadhani, stated during a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday (22/9) that the continuous heavy rain in the area triggered water overflows and flash floods, resulting in significant impact on the local population.
