BMKG: Several Jabodetabek Areas Forecast Heavy Rain This Weekend

BMKG, the Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency, has issued an early weather warning for the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi region (Jabodetabek) for the weekend of 22-24 May 2026. During this period, several areas are forecast to experience rain with moderate to very heavy intensity, potentially triggering hydrometeorological impacts such as waterlogging, local floods, and fallen trees.

BMKG has set a ‘Watch’ status for moderate to heavy rain, and an ‘Alert’ status for heavy to very heavy rain in parts of Jabodetabek.

Members of the public are urged to stay alert for possible inundation, local floods, fallen trees, and other hydrometeorological impacts that may result from heavy rainfall. It also reminded people they can report disaster conditions in real time through PetaBencana.id. The platform allows residents to share information about floods, waterlogging, or extreme weather conditions in their respective areas to help monitoring the situation quickly.
