BMKG: Jakarta Weather Today — Rain and Thick Clouds Across Parts of the City

Jakarta weather forecast for today, Wednesday 4 March 2026, is dominated by light rain to thick cloud cover across most areas from morning through night, according to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) via its official website and the Instagram account @infobmkg.

BMKG predicts that light rain has fallen since the morning across the entire administrative area of DKI Jakarta, including the Thousand Islands, Central Jakarta, North Jakarta, West Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta.

Light rain is forecast to occur in the Thousand Islands, Central Jakarta, and North Jakarta.

Meanwhile, rain accompanied by thunder is expected in South Jakarta and East Jakarta. West Jakarta will gradually become cloudy.

In the post from @infobmkg, BMKG detailed that from 07:00 to 10:00 WIB, West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta were covered by thick cloud. Rain is forecast to fall from 13:00 to 16:00 WIB in those areas.

Specifically for North Jakarta, thunderstorm is forecast around 13:00 WIB before returning to thick cloud cover in the late afternoon from 16:00 to 19:00 WIB.

As night falls, cloudy conditions are expected to spread across almost all DKI Jakarta. However, BMKG notes the potential for hazy conditions in North Jakarta at around 22:00 WIB.

In the Thousand Islands, rain that briefly eased in the morning ahead of noon is predicted to resume at 13:00 WIB. In the late afternoon, around 16:00 WIB, this area is at risk of hazy conditions, before rain returns at 19:00 WIB and may be accompanied by thunder at 22:00 WIB.

Residents are urged to be cautious of potential thunderstorms from midday to late afternoon, especially for motor vehicle users and people active outdoors.
