BMKG Issues Warning of Potential Heavy Rainfall in DKI Jakarta
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued a warning of potential heavy to very heavy rainfall in DKI Jakarta from 16 to 19 February 2026.
Based on official BMKG information posted on its Instagram account @infobmkg in Jakarta on Monday, the agency issued an alert-level warning for moderate to heavy rainfall on Monday (16/2), with potential impacts in North Jakarta and the Thousand Islands.
For this alert level, potential hydrometeorological disaster impacts include waterlogging, river overflow and landslides that could disrupt public activities.
BMKG subsequently issued a standby-level warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall potentially affecting Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, East Jakarta, South Jakarta, as well as Bogor Regency and Bogor City. The potential disaster impacts at standby level include hydrometeorological hazards such as flooding, flash floods and landslides that could significantly affect communities, public services and infrastructure.
For Tuesday (17/2), BMKG issued a standby-level warning for moderate to heavy rainfall in North Jakarta, South Jakarta and the Thousand Islands, whilst a standby-level warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall was issued for Central Jakarta, West Jakarta and East Jakarta, as well as Depok City, Tangerang City and Tangerang Regency.
On Wednesday (18/2), an alert-level warning was issued for South Jakarta, whilst a standby-level warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall was issued for North Jakarta, West Jakarta, East Jakarta and the Thousand Islands.
