BMKG Issues Today's Weather Forecast: Light Rain Expected Across Most of Indonesia

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecasts that most of Indonesia will experience light intensity rain on Monday, 15 June 2026. These weather conditions are expected to occur in a number of major cities from the western to eastern parts of Indonesia. Based on the weather forecast released by BMKG, light rain has the potential to fall across several regions throughout the day. The public in various areas is advised to remain attentive to weather developments before undertaking activities, especially in regions with the potential for rain or extreme weather. BMKG forecasts light rain will occur in several Indonesian cities. Regions included in the light rain category are Ambon, Bandung, Bengkulu, Jambi, Kendari, and Manado. Additionally, light rain is also expected in Manokwari, Palangka Raya, Palembang, Pangkal Pinang, and Samarinda. Meanwhile, other cities also potentially experiencing light rain are Semarang, Serang, Sofifi, Tanjungpinang, and Yogyakarta. This forecast indicates that light rain still dominates weather conditions across various Indonesian regions at the start of the week. BMKG also predicts cloudy weather conditions will occur in several areas. Cloudy weather is expected to cover several major cities, including Jakarta, Banda Aceh, Banjarbaru, Merauke, Nabire, Padang, Sorong, and Surabaya. Cloudy conditions generally indicate a fairly extensive cloud cover, although not always followed by rain. Besides light rain, BMKG forecasts rain with moderate intensity potentially occurring in two regions. The cities predicted to experience moderate rain are Mamuju and Medan. Residents in both regions are urged to increase vigilance regarding possible puddles and disruptions to outdoor activities due to higher rainfall compared to other areas. In today’s weather report, BMKG also forecasts hazy conditions will occur in two cities. The regions potentially experiencing hazy conditions are Bandarlampung and Pekanbaru. Hazy conditions can affect visibility, so road users and transport operators are expected to remain cautious during activities.
