BMKG issues early warning for high tides in Bali
The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Region III Denpasar has issued an early warning for potential high tides in several waters across Bali, predicted to occur between 26 and 30 September 2026.
“We urge the public to remain vigilant and prepared to anticipate the impact of maximum high tides,” said the Head of BMKG Region III, Cahyo Nugroho, in Denpasar, Bali, on Wednesday.
According to the BMKG forecast, the potential for high tides affects the southern coast of Jembrana Regency, the southern coast of Tabanan Regency, the coast of Badung Regency, the coast of Denpasar City, the coast of Gianyar Regency, and the southern coast of Klungkung Regency.
He explained that the cause of the high tides is the occurrence of the full moon phase on Saturday (26/09).
Furthermore, Cahyo explained that the timing of the maximum high tides varies by region, which will generally impact the activities of communities around ports and coastal areas.
He encouraged the public to monitor the development of maritime weather information from BMKG Region III via the website bbmkg3.bmkg.go.id or through maritim.bmkg.go.id. Information can also be accessed via the Instagram channel @bmkgbali or through the Info BMKG application.
