BMKG Issues Early Warning as Tropical Cyclone Seed 97W Triggers Extreme Weather

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued an early warning regarding weather conditions in Indonesia for Sunday, 12 July 2026. Based on the latest atmospheric dynamics analysis, Tropical Cyclone Seed 97W has been detected over the Pacific Ocean north-east of Papua, significantly influencing wind patterns and the growth of rain clouds.

Tropical Cyclone Seed 97W is currently located over the Pacific Ocean north-east of Papua, with central air pressure reaching 1006 hPa and maximum wind speeds of 15 knots. The system is moving westwards, but over the next 48 to 72 hours it is forecast to have a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone.
