BMKG forecasts rain across several Indonesian regions on Tuesday
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has forecast that several Indonesian regions could experience rain of varying intensity on Tuesday.
BMKG forecaster Ranika, in a weather forecast monitored via the agency’s YouTube channel in Jakarta on Tuesday morning, said that moderate rain was likely in Tanjung Selor, North Kalimantan.
“Meanwhile, light rain is forecast for Banda Aceh, Aceh; Medan, North Sumatra; Bandar Lampung, Lampung; and Pontianak, West Kalimantan,” Ranika said.
For the western part of Indonesia, BMKG predicted moderate rain in Tanjung Selor, light rain in Banda Aceh, Medan, Bandar Lampung, and Pontianak, and thick cloudy conditions in Pekanbaru, Tanjung Pinang, Jambi, Bengkulu, Jakarta, Serang, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, and Samarinda.
There is also potential for hazy conditions in Padang, West Sumatra; Palembang, South Sumatra; Pangkal Pinang, Bangka Belitung Islands; and Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan. Meanwhile, smoke or haze is forecast for Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan.
For the eastern part of Indonesia, light rain is likely in Mamuju, West Sulawesi; Ambon, Maluku; Nabire, Central Papua; and Jayawijaya, Papua Pegunungan. Meanwhile, partly cloudy, cloudy, to thickly cloudy weather is forecast for Denpasar, Bali; Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara; Makassar, South Sulawesi; Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara; and Gorontalo.
Similar weather is also forecast for Manado, North Sulawesi; Ternate, North Maluku; Sorong, Southwest Papua; Manokwari, West Papua; Jayapura, Papua; and Merauke, South Papua. Hazy conditions are also possible in Palu, Central Sulawesi; and Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi.
