The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecasts that weather in most major Indonesian cities on Tuesday will be dominated by clear cloudy, cloudy, to thick cloudy conditions.

BMKG forecaster Adelia Febby, in a weather information broadcast monitored in Jakarta on Tuesday morning, said that in western Indonesia, clear cloudy to thick cloudy weather is likely in Banda Aceh, Tanjung Pinang and Pangkal Pinang.

“Next are Serang, Jakarta, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Pontianak and Samarinda,” she said.

Meanwhile, she continued, light rain is likely in Medan, Pekanbaru, Padang, Bengkulu, Bandung in West Java, and Tanjung Selor in North Kalimantan.

Adelia said BMKG also forecasts hazy air in Jambi, Palembang in South Sumatra, Bandar Lampung, Banjarmasin and Palangkaraya.

Light rain is then likely in Mamuju and Palu.

“Meanwhile, potential smoke or fog is present in Manokwari and Nabire, while hazy air is likely in Mataram,” said Adelia.

In line with these varied weather conditions, BMKG urges the public to continue updating weather forecast information through the BMKG official website and the agency’s official social media channels.
